MSA Appoints Ronald N. Herring Jr. General Manager of Safety Products Division
PITTSBURGH, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mine Safety Appliances Co. (Amex: MSA), Pittsburgh, Pa., has appointed Ronald N. Herring Jr. to General Manager of its Safety Products Division. In his new position, Mr. Herring will have responsibility for all research and development, marketing, and manufacturing operations at MSA's nine North American Safety Products Division locations. He will also become a key member of MSA's North America leadership team.
Mr. Herring most recently served as Director of Marketing for the Safety Products Division, where he was instrumental in recent strategic acquisitions and in creating and implementing a significant growth strategy for the Division over the past four years.
Since joining the company in 1983 as a sales associate in New Jersey, Mr. Herring has served MSA in a variety of capacities. He was promoted to senior sales associate in 1988, and in 1992 became the product line manager for supplied air respirators and relocated to Pittsburgh. He also held the position of product group manager for air purifying respirators.
Mr. Herring received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Montclair State College in 1983 and received a master's degree in business administration from Rider College in 1989. He is a member of the International Safety Equipment Association as well as the International Society for Respiratory Protection.
In addition to his professional affiliations, Mr. Herring serves as an Adult Leader for the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family.
