Wellness Program at MSA Awarded National Recognition
Program Only Second in State to Win Honor - Recognized for Meeting Rigorous Health Promotion Standards
PITTSBURGH, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MSA (NYSE: MSA) announced today that its employee Wellness Program has been designated as a "Bronze Well Workplace" by the Wellness Councils of America. MSA is only the second company in Pennsylvania to be recognized in this fashion by demonstrating outstanding quality and excellence in worksite health promotion.
Similar to the Malcolm Baldrige Award for Performance Excellence, the Well Workplace Awards are driven by a rigorous set of criteria and are designed to recognize excellence in health promotion at worksites. The criteria for the award recognizes those companies that have obtained strong senior-level support, created integrated wellness teams, collected strategic organizational health data, and are delivering tailored programs to meet the company's needs.
Available to all MSA associates, the MSA Wellness Program was launched in 2003 and has since been integrated at 13 sites across North America. The program provides associates with opportunities to improve their health by encouraging a healthy lifestyle. The MSA Wellness Program offers lunchtime focus groups, health risk awareness classes, walking programs, and financial reimbursement for health club memberships, weight loss and smoking cessation programs, massage therapy, in-home fitness equipment and the like.
